The ΔΕΗ 3×3 POWER TO THE HOOD byEurohoops highlights the daily "protagonists" of each neighborhood, aiming at sports, entertainment and the further spread of 3×3, the popular, fast and dynamic game that from the streets found its way to the Olympic Games.
Paleo Faliro welcomed the ΔΕΗ 3×3 POWER TO THE HOOD by Eurohoops on Sunday 14 April 2024. The beach of Batis was transformed into an outdoor 3×3 court to transmit the basketball energy to the sport's fans and tournament visitors. The idyllic location of the Athenian Riviera, a typical meeting point of Paleo Faliro, becomes the ultimate basketball destination with a high level 3×3 basketball tournament and parallel entertainment activities that will delight young and old spectators and participants.
The 3×3 tournament for 3 mixed age categories (10-13 years, 14-17 years, 18+ years) is the core of the ΔΕΗ 3×3 POWER TO THE HOOD by Eurohoops , and participation is free of charge. In this way, residents and visitors of all ages had the opportunity to get closer to 3×3, the new Olympic sport that started in the neighborhoods of the world. Alongside the racing action, the public had the opportunity to enjoy a series of sports and entertainment activities, such as Face Painting and 360° Photobooth, Street Basketball Show by freestyler Dude K, Basketball challenges for young and old participants and spectators.
Dimitris Verginis, leader of the Panionios basketball team was the guest of the ΔΕΗ 3×3 POWER TO THE HOOD by Eurohoops in Paleo Faliro. The EuroLeague holder with Panathinaikos, who now leads the historic Panionios team in its return to the Basket League, is particularly connected to the area, as Panionios played for several years , at the Paleo Faliro, a few meters away from the venue, with the public providing a warm welcome upon entering the venue. The accomplished athlete spoke to the children about the importance of constant effort to achieve the goal, but also about the love with which they should treat sport. The event was also attended by the Mayor of Palaio Faliro, Ioannis Fostiropoulos, who did not hesitate to shoot at the finale of the Shooting Challenge and take a video in the 360° Photobooth, as well as representatives of the Municipal Authority.
Hood Groove Management consistently supports the institution of 3x3 and together with DudeK, offer the audience the opportunity to experience the magic of the street Basketball show. This particular show always excites visitors and participants alike, as it mixes the magic of basketball and dance in an incredible artistic blend !
